Pour cette 33e édition, 400 pilotes ou co-pilotes féminines, formant 200 équipes et représentant 17 nationalités, âgées de 21 à 67 ans, qu’elles soient expertes ou débutantes, se préparent à affronter le désert marocain dans un défi qui mettra à l’épreuve leur stratégie, leur force et leur persévérance alors qu’elles navigueront à travers un terrain accidenté en utilisant des méthodes traditionnelles de navigation tout-terrain, s’appuyant sur une carte, une boussole et une règle.
Au programme : partant du départ officiel le 13 avril à Monaco et se terminant à la ligne d’arrivée à Essaouira le 27 avril, il y aura 6 étapes, dont 2 « marathons », au cours desquels les participants devront tracer leur propre itinéraire dans leurs catégories respectives (4×4/Camion, Crossover, Quad, SSV, E-Gazelle Innovation, E-Gazelle Auto).
Les classements finaux et les podiums, déterminés par les catégories, sont attribués en fonction du nombre de kilomètres parcourus entre les coordonnées géographiques du départ et de l’arrivée de chaque étape.
La catégorie E-Gazelle, inaugurée par S.A.S. le Prince Albert II de Monaco au début de la 27e édition, compte désormais environ onze véhicules 100 % électriques, répartis dans les catégories E-Gazelle Auto et E-Gazelle Innovation. Cette nouvelle catégorie permet aux participants d’adapter leurs véhicules aux exigences du Rallye, en mettant l’accent sur l’innovation technologique, l’efficacité énergétique et les performances tout-terrain. Pour cette édition, un premier test & learn sera réalisé avec la participation d’un véhicule transformé pour défier les véhicules traditionnels de la catégorie 4×4.

Le Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles est un rallye-raid de navigation tout-terrain, 100 % féminin, pionnier en matière de conduite écologique au cœur du Sahara marocain. Souvent imité mais jamais égalé, c’est une aventure humaine, sportive et solidaire sans pareille dans le monde, réunissant des femmes du monde entier. Il offre une perspective alternative sur la course automobile grâce à un concept éco-originel établi en 1990 : pas de vitesse, pas de GPS, mais plutôt une navigation tout-terrain traditionnelle, en utilisant une carte, une boussole et une règle. Pour émerger victorieuses, les participantes – les « Gazelles » – doivent localiser le plus de balises possible chaque jour tout en parcourant la distance la plus courte.
Maïenga, l’agence organisatrice, est la première et la seule à organiser un événement certifié ISO 14001. Maïenga explore et met en œuvre activement des initiatives respectueuses de l’environnement tout au long de la course, du bivouac et de tout son écosystème, à travers :

Le Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc est le seul Rallye-Raid hors-piste 100 % féminin au monde certifié norme ISO 14001:2015 dont les valeurs fondatrices sont le courage, le dépassement de soi, la loyauté, l’entraide et l’engagement environnemental et solidaire.
Pas de vitesse, pas de GPS, mais une navigation à l’ancienne, uniquement en hors-piste. Les «Gazelles» doivent rallier plusieurs balises dans l’ordre en parcourant la plus courte distance possible tout en préservant leur véhicule (4×4,
crossover, crossover hybride, quad, SSV, camion ou véhicule électrique). Tout appel mécanique engendre des pénalités.
La vitesse n’étant pas un critère de classement, les émissions de C0² restent limitées par rapport aux rallyes classiques. L’écoconduite est valorisée «pour gagner, il faut parcourir le moins de kilomètres possible ». Tous les déchets sont incinérés pour un bivouac propre. Les bouteilles d’eau consommées pendant l’évènement sont récoltées par l’association Cœur de Gazelles et recyclées par l’entreprise d’insertion professionnelle Ressourc’In.
