Sur cette zone de régates la plus proche de la sortie du chenal de La Trinité-sur-Mer, trois séries monotypes ont couru des manches endiablées et spectaculaires. 17 J/70 et 22 Open 5.70 ont ainsi avalé 13 courses, tandis que les J/80 arrivés samedi en ont couru 9. En Open 5.70, l’équipage normand du CVSAE Toxic skippé par Noé Ackermann rafle largement la mise en remportant 5 courses. Chez les J/80, c’est Luc Nadal et ses 3 équipiers sur Ganja qui l’emportent également largement avec 4 victoires et une grande régularité (jamais en dessous de la 5e place). Rond Région Bretagne : Acrobates en folie sur 20 courses
La série des ETF 26 prend de l’ampleur et c’est tant mieux ! Deux équipages féminins (Lady Team Pro avec Mathilde Geron et Live Ocean Racing barré par Olivia Mackay), des Anglais accrocheurs (Athena Pathway de Nikki Boniface), un invité de marque en la personne de Franck Cammas sur Entreprises du Morbihan et des grands habitués du circuit, le niveau de jeu s’est montré diablement intéressant sur ces catamarans à foils. Sur les 20 courses, Jean-Christophe Mourniac sur Team Pro l’emporte 6 points devant Entreprises du Morbihan.
En Diam 24, qui comptait 7 concurrents, Vincent Bouvier (ADH17) est parvenu à creuser l’écart devant Xavier-Pierre Dubos (Oblige.fr) qui remporte quatre courses.
Rond Banque Populaire Grand Ouest : Les cadors aux belles places
Quel plateau en Open 7.50 ! Beaucoup de « stars » étaient embarquées sur ces luges, bien décidées à prendre un maximum de plaisir sur ce 45e Spi Ouest-France. La bataille fut rude et intense et c’est au final Banque Populaire (8 victoires sur 14 courses !) qui l’emporte avec Sébastien Josse, Kevin Peponnet et Quentin Delapierre aux manettes. Ils devancent Open Game barré par Antoine Gautier et ses camarades affûtés de l’écurie Apivia. Loick Peyron sur DagoSails invité par Xavier et Paul Dagault termine en 3e position. Dans la série des Mach 6.50, Mathieu Bourdais et son équipage sur Dimension-Polyant se sont montrés imbattables avec 8 victoires également sur 14 courses. En First Seascape 24, série comprenant essentiellement des amateurs, Ronan Dervieux sur Exoqua n’a pas laissé une miette à ses 7 concurrents : 19 points d’écart avec le deuxième Marc Kervizic sur Wka Nui. 38 équipages en Grand Surprise et de magnifiques bords de spi de couleur jaune ont animé la baie de Quiberon. Rond Saint-James : Les honneurs des parcours côtiers
Les IRC et Osiris, ce sont ces bateaux habitables de toutes tailles, de tous âges qui courent ensemble en temps compensé. Le superbe monocoque bleu Paprec l’emporte en IRC 0 avec 14 hommes d’équipage à bord. Une victoire qui signe les 20 ans de la création du Team Paprec sur le Spi Ouest-France, un jubilé ! Fastwave 6 barré par Eric Fries gagne en IRC 1 devant Codiam de Nicolas Loday. En IRC 2, Marc Menesguen sur son A35, grand habitué du Spi, a fait une superbe démonstration de maîtrise parfaite de son bateau et du plan d’eau de la baie de Quiberon devant Gautier Normand sur Locmalo (A35). L’Elan 333 Belauan de Benoît Malraison devance insolemment ses 7 concurrents avec 15 points d’avance, tandis qu’en Osiris A, le J24 Jeronimo d’Aorelian Garcia du Yacht du Crouesty, s’est battu comme un chiffonnier pour remporter le gros lot devant le Surprise Kalliste de Guenole Le Maux. Le Contention 33 Black Magic d’Amaury Fourcadet a eu chaud ! Rond Département du Morbihan : 119 bateaux répartis en 5 catégories très disputées
Une catégorie particulièrement intéressante qui regroupe des bateaux très différents. 20 Multi 2000 se disputaient la victoire et c’est le 40 pieds Spirit of Extasy d’Yvan Noblet qui l’emporte. Chez les Mini 6.50 qui regroupaient tout de même 19 équipages, l’affaire fut des plus serrée jusqu’à la dernière course ! Au final, la palme revient à Groupe Biocombustibles skippé par Paul Cousin, un seul petit point devant Kasinos Bretagne. 5 Class40 venaient se frotter sur le plan d’eau pour tester vitesse et réglages. Born In Mini de Nicolas D’Estais termine devant ses camarades de jeu. En Figaro Bénéteau 3, qui comptait 17 équipages, Tom Dolan avec Gildas Mahé et Alan Roberts terminent à la première place d’une courte de tête devant le Mutuelle Bleue de Corentin Horeau. Enfin, la très disputée catégorie des IRC Double qui comptait 58 concurrents voit la victoire de Didier Gaudoux et Erwan Tabarly sur Lann Ael (MN35) devant Alexis Loison et Thomas Audren sur le JPK 10.10 Yellow Impact Sailing.

Le public est d’ailleurs très varié, ne viennent pas seulement les passionnés de voile. Les navettes en mer ont été un succès avec Yves Le Blevec notamment comme commentateur, le village avec entre autres l’Accro-voile, la chasse aux œufs, les mini-bus entre les parkings et le port. L’objectif sur ce bel évènement est de créer du lien, et ce fut une réussite. »

Chaque rond a été très disputé et dans chacune des séries, la bagarre a été âpre. Le retour des marins est excellent, ils soulignent une navigation technique et engagée. Certains équipages sont rentrés tard, tous ont navigué beaucoup, et c’est ce qu’ils venaient chercher. C’est une belle édition car on revient à un nombre de bateau d’avant le Covid, avec des gens heureux de naviguer ensemble sur des flottes conséquentes. Il y a de belles progressions en quantité dans beaucoup de séries, comme les First 31.7 qui n’ont jamais été aussi nombreux ».

Ce fut un super évènement, avec une belle ambiance. Notre équipage se connait bien, il y a de l’expérience à bord, mais il y avait quelques bons concurrents. C’est sûr qu’aujourd’hui avec les grosses conditions, il y a eu plus d’écart. Il ne fallait pas faire de bêtises. Nous avons passé un très bon moment avec beaucoup de plaisir. »

« Ce fut un Spi assez intense ! Le niveau en Open 5.70 est très homogène et j’ai remarqué au fur et à mesure des jours que nous avons progressé en vitesse. La tactique en baie de Quiberon n’est pas simple, le vent est parfois instable, il y avait du clapot qui n’aide pas à avancer, il faut donc faire des paris, oser des choses. Vraiment, il ne fallait rien lâcher ! C’est mon 2e Spi et une deuxième victoire, nous sommes vraiment contents. »
