UN ART MARTIAL CRÉÉ A LA FIN DES ANNÉES 40
Le fondateur de l’Aïkido, Morihei UESHIBA (1883-1969) fut inspiré par les meilleurs maîtres d’arts martiaux japonais.
L’arrière-plan philosophique ou religieux joua un rôle très important dans l’élaboration de cet art.
Il réussit à ouvrir sa pratique à des notions plus modernes telles que la recherche de la paix, de la fraternité et de l’harmonie. Il développa à partir de 1948 l’enseignement d’une nouvelle discipline qui commença dès 1950 à rayonner dans le monde entier et notamment en France.
Sa pratique est ouverte à des notions très contemporaines : recherche de la paix, fraternité, bien-être, harmonie… Elle est à la fois un art de vivre, une philosophie, une technique de combat efficace, sans violence, sans compétition.
